How To Stop Nail Biting

Recoverying The Damage From Nail Biting

Today I would like to make a special post.  It’s in response to an email I received from Laura, one of our readers.  Up untill now, this blog has been dedicated to using Hypnosis For Nail Biting as well as teaching the exercises of neuro-associative-conditioning for dealing with the underlying cause of nail biting.

Today I would like you to read Laura’s story and be sure to comment.

Hello,
I have been biting my nails since I was two (I am twenty one now), and it seems to be a way to help cope with anxiety. I have had a couple times where I have successfully stopped biting my nails for months, but would always ‘relapse’. However, I am successfully growing them out again and am very determined to keep them nice and long. But, it concerns me that the ‘white tip’ of my nail at the end is so far down my finger. Most people’s who haven’t bitten their nails have their ‘white tip’ at the very end of their finger. I’m very self concious about this and am constantly trying to cover my nails up with nailpolish. I couldn’t find anything online, so I was wondering if you knew if the start of the ‘white tip’ at the end of my nail will eventually move back towards the tip of my finger? Thanks!
Sincerely,
a chronic nail biter

p.s. sorry if my e-mail made no sense! I couldn’t figure out how to word it, but the ‘white tip’ i am talking about is at the tip of my nail, and not the ‘high moon’ at the base!

I am reluctant to admit that I still have the ‘white tip’ at the very end of my fingers.  When I tried to do a little research on the subject I was unable to find any good information on the subject.  That is why I’ve decided to open this up to discussion.  After all, I am just a regular person and I certainly don’t have all the answers.  Please comment and let us know what you think.
